WTUC Weekly Announcement for Sunday, February 19th, Transfiguration Sunday

Our hearts of full of thanks this week for the fabulous gift of cleaning that the HS Youth and leaders gave to our sanctuary – and “the closet.”  Thanks for the gifts of time and love!

This Sunday’s scriptures features two stories of wonder, Elijah`s rise to heaven in a chariot and Jesus Transfiguration.  That`s a lot of wonder!  Come to worship and enjoy teasing out transformation for our own lives.  Texts:  2 Kings 2:1-12 and Mark 9:2-29.
Amazingly, Lent (the 40 day period of repentance before Easter) is already is upon us.  We will gather at the Foster`s home for a simple supper followed by a Ash Wednesday service with the imposition of ashes.  We look forward to a time of reflection with you.  Children are very welcome.  Please email the ministers for direction if necessary at wtucrev@gmail.com

Message from Carol Sack – “Jesus the Teacher”, Taize service Friday evening at the Rackhams.

Dear Friends,

David and Zenora Rackham are hosting a meditative service in the style of Taize this evening (Friday) at their home on the ICU campus, 7:30~8:30. This  service includes candlelight, Silence, readings from Scriptures and other sources, a few recorded chorale pieces and short, repetitive sung chants to Scripture words. The theme David has chosen is “Jesus the Teacher: Leaning into our World.”

After the service, we will partake in tea, fruit and other goodies, the abundance of Zenora’s Round Table.

This is a “user-friendly” gathering, easy for anyone to join, whether a “church person” or not. All are welcome.
