Fellowship following the service.
Our guest harpist: Rebecca Flannery began studying harp when she was 11, growing up in CT. She went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in harp performance at the State University of NY at Stony Brook and then went on to earn her Masters Degree at Yale University. She has been a professional harpist ever since and has taught as Professor of Harp at the University of CT, the University of Hartford, and the Neighborhood Community Music School in New Haven, CT, as well as privately. She teaches harp each fall semester here at the Japan Lutheran College to both students, graduates and community members.
Rebecca is married to Peter Reis, who is a retired US Navy Commander who served on surface ships and aboard submarines in the Pacific and the Atlantic. He did his undergraduate studies at Univ. of California, Berkeley where he double majored in Political Science and Economics, he earned his law degree at New York University and practiced law in NY, Washington DC, California, and Belgium. When he retired he turned his passion for harps into a business that grew to be Harps Unlimited International, LLC with a dozen showrooms around the US from coast to coast.
