No One Knows — First Sunday of Advent – November 27, 2022 at 10am JST

Join the West Tokyo Union Church community for our IN-PERSON and online hybrid worship service this Sunday! Rev. Dr. Jim Sack will be preaching on the second coming on this first Sunday in Advent. Jesus reminds us, in Matthew 24, that no one knows when the Lord will come again to the earth; “no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.”

This will be our first in-person service in a long while, so we hope that you can join us on the campus of the Lutheran Seminary or online. We will have a Thanksgiving potluck at Ann’s house after the service. (Details below.) Thank you to Kazuko for playing the organ every Sunday. We appreciate your musical gifts. Ruth and her friends will join us for the children’s message.

In-Person Thanksgiving Service and Gathering: We hope that you will be able to attend our in-person Thanksgiving service and potluck on Nov. 27. The 10:00 am service will be at the Lutheran Seminary and the potluck will be held at Ann’s house at 12:30.

We are very thankful that our little community church can keep on going even in the midst of difficulties. Many friends keep contributing to our worship services and to our parishioner connections. We appreciate everyone’s prayers, financial support and weekly acts of service as we help each other in doing the work of the Kingdom.
