One Goal, Many Ways

Rev. Maki Fushii will preach tomorrow, Sunday, October 29, from 10am to 11am JST for the West Tokyo Union Church worship service. Her message is entitled, “One Goal, Many Ways.” 

Rev. Dr. Maki Fushii McIntosh is an ordained Minister of the United Church of Canada as well as Japan Baptist Convention. She received her education degrees from Seinan-gakuin University Theological School (B.D., M.Div), Vancouver School of Theology (Th.M.) and McCormick Theological Seminary (D. Min.) 

She had multiple roles as Editor of the National Christian Council in Japan and the Japan Christian Women Organization. She has served as the University Minister and Church Associate Pastor at the International Christian University (ICU). She also served as Ministers in Vancouver Japanese United Church, United Church of Canada and other churches. She is currently the General Manager for Castlepines Global Equities Ltd. Japan Office.

Maki is actively involved in associations and organizations advocating for human rights, eliminating child prostitution, human trafficking, and promoting racial and gender equality. She has served in multiple church committees, task force groups and work forces. Currently, she mostly focuses on ESG (Environment, Social Impact, Governance Credentials) in investment. 

Maki enjoys traveling, arts and music. She is married to David McIntosh (Director, Centre for Minority Issues and Mission) and they have a daughter, Flora Mei who studies at the University of Toronto.

Next Sunday, Nov. 5, our speaker will be Sally Witmer. The Witmer’s were former members of WTUC and they now live in San Diego.

November in-person worship is on Nov 12. We may try hybrid service again but will inform about this again next week. The service will be from 11:00-12:00. It is also our Thanksgiving celebration potluck. Please bring one of your favourite Thanksgiving dish to share. We would like to take this opportunity to have a membership drive. We ask that each family/person bring one friend or one family to join us this day.
