A Moment of Thanks
Dear WTUC Family,
It’s already been two months since I have had the honor and privilege of becoming your pastor, and I just wanted to write a note of thanks to you. You have reminded me what it means to serve (and the joy that comes with it), and I have looked forward to each opportunity to worship with you. Thank you for reflecting the love of God to my family and me, and I look forward to continue walking with you.
This coming Sunday is a special service as we will be worshipping with Mitaka Lutheran Church. This is a bilingual joint service being held at the chapel of Japan Lutheran College and Theological Seminary. Please note that this service will begin at 10:30 a.m., which is thirty minutes earlier than when we typically meet. I look forward to serving with Rev. Toppo Takamura, who is pastor of Mitaka Lutheran Church. Because this is a special service with another congregation, we will not be recording the service for those usually joining online. We hope that those who are in the Tokyo area will be able to come join us in person. Please also note that we will be observing Communion during this service.
On another note, have you signed up for our Thanksgiving Potluck happening on Sunday, November 17 after the service? If you have not, please check out this calendar event where you can get all of the details on how you can serve. Please also check out Ann Tang’s note regarding our outreach to the local community. We would love for each member of WTUC to bring a friend with them to the service that Sunday and the potluck happening afterward. Please prayerfully prepare for this wonderful celebration.
We are still looking for more youth and kids to be involved in our planned Christmas program on December 8. If you have not, contact Ruth Ingulsrud, please do so as soon as possible so that we can make some plans for that Sunday.
I look forward to seeing you on Sunday. Again, thank you so much for being such a loving community that reflects the love of Christ.
Blessings,
Jonathan
