Sunday, October 6th

11:00am Worship
Rev. Teresa Thompson Sherrill
wtucrev@gmail.com

We have the privilege of welcoming Dr. Nancy Nethercott to our congregation this week!  She will bring a message on “Offering of worship”  from Psalm 96.  During the service will be Sunday School for the 1-5 year olds.  A yummy Fellowship Hour will follow the service with a time for all of us to reconnect and refresh!

A little about Nancy…….. My love relationship with Jesus and Japan began about the same time! Living in Yokosuka for 3 years while my father was in the Navy, I received the grace of Christ in my life and was baptized in Japan…my heart’s home! God brought that relationship full circle when I came “home” with my husband, Paul, as TEAM missionaries in 1987. Fifteen years in worship leadership in Japanese churches made me passionate about bringing life and renewal into all aspects of the worship life of the Body. To assist me in coming alongside churches in Japan and across Asia as they seek to grow, I got my Doctorate of Worship Studies in 2006. While I love leading worship workshops and speaking in churches, I find great joy in being Paul’s wife and mother to Naomi (15). I love to bake, cook, swim, and drink dark roast coffee with good friends!

CONGREGATION:  The MS kids service project is Operation Christmas Child.  Shoe boxes are filled with a gift for a boy or girl in a particular age category (2-4, 5-8, 9-11).  They are wrapped in Christmas paper and sent to a delivery station.  For us the delivery station is Sendai.  The organization then takes them and distributes them to children in Fukushima.  The HS kids will also be involved in this marvelous ministry.
We need help gathering shoe boxes!  Please set aside your shoeboxes for the MSers Operation Christmas Child – please bring your boxes to Julie Rogers, any of the MSers and Pastor Teresa.

“Just think, you’re here not by chance, but by God’s choosing. God’s hand formed you and made you the person you are. God compares you to no one else – you are one of a kind. You lack nothing that God’s grace can’t give you. God has allowed you to be here at this time in history to fulfill a special purpose for this generation.”
Roy Lessin

GREATLY LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU IN WORSHIP!
