WTUC Weekly Announcement for Sunday, October 2nd

WORLD WIDE COMMUNION SUNDAY!

As we partake of the meal of celebration, so will Christians worldwide.  In this way we acknowledge holy unity in Christ that supersedes all human divisions and boundaries.  Please come in your traditional clothes if you wish.  Also bring cloths from various countries to decorate our communion table.

The sermon will focus on another challenging parable:  Matthew 21:33-46

Sunday School:

Ages 3-5: during the service
Grades 1-4: 9:30 am
Middle School: Wed. October 5th; 6:30 pm
High School: Sunday October 1st ; 1:00pm at the Dornbach’s home

PICTORIAL DIRECTORY:

We continue to gather pictures for our pictorial directory.  These directories will be emailed in PDF form only to church family.  They will not be posted on line.  Please email a picture to Toshi Sasao ( tsasao1@gmail.com), or if you need a picture taken, please see him on Sunday.

Worship this Sunday explores the mystery of Jesus emptying Himself for us and our response.  Philippians 2:1-13

Also we continue to collect photos and updated information of members and friends of the congregation to create a photo directory.  If you have a photo, email it to Toshi Sasao <tsasao1@gmail.com>.  If you need a picture taken, please talk to Toshi on Sunday.

Worship this Sunday explores the marvelous and troubling story of the workers in the Vineyard. Matthew 20:1-16, Eucharist and Healing Prayers will be offered.

Don’t forget to pick up your nametag on the way in (though it may take us a few weeks to figure out how to get them to you gracefully— please be patient!)

Also Bring:  a yummy something to share from our snack table.  Its good to be together again!

Children and Sunday School Teachers:  you are part of our commissioning of the church school, so please come.

Dear WTUC Members and Friends:
 
We are writing to ask for your co-operation as we will update our church directory in a few weeks. Please send the following information to me (tsasao1@gmail.com) at your earliest convenience if you have moved or changed your mailing address within the past year. Here is what goes into the directory this year:  full names, family members, dates of birth (adults with no year, and children with year), snail-mail address, e-mail address, landline phone, cell phones, skype ID (if available).  Kindly let me know if you do not wish to be listed. 
 
Also, since we have the privilege of two new pastors with us this year, we would like to compile a photo-book of WTUC members and friends so that they will remember us correctly and quickly. So if you could send me a small size electronic photo of your own and family members with names, we will greatly appreciate it. You can take a quick photo of yourself on your cell phone, or any camera. As long as we can recognize your face, it could be in full color or black-and-white, but with high resolution. If you would like to have your photo taken by someone else before and after Sunday services in the next two weeks, please do let me know.  We will have a photographer standing by. Please send a photo to me no later than September 25. Again, this is not mandatory, but we would like to know if you prefer not to be publically exposed.  We will not distribute the final compilation to the public; this is just for our pastors and Steering Committee members.
